The Talbot County Economic Development Commission is now accepting nominations for its 2021-2022 Community Impact Awards.
Winners will be announced at the Talbot County Business Appreciation Summit to be held on Friday, May 6, 2022, at 8:00 a.m. at the Tidewater Inn in Easton. Nominations may be made for businesses, nonprofit organizations, community projects or initiatives, and individuals.
The event is hosted each year by the Talbot County Department of Economic Development and Tourism in partnership with the Talbot County Economic Development Commission. The Community Impact Awards recognize outstanding businesses, projects, and individuals who have made a significant impact in Talbot County.
“I never cease to be amazed by the wonderful things that are happening throughout Talbot County,” says County Council President Chuck Callahan. “Our businesses and citizens have proven over the past two years just how resilient they are. So many people have made a difference in our community. We’re blessed to live in such a wonderful place.”
EDC chairman Reza Jafari agrees. “There are many ways to impact a community,” he notes. “Each year, the EDC honors those businesses and individuals who have made a positive impact on the Talbot County economy. I cannot wait to see the impressive list of winners from this year’s event.”
Last year’s winners included Building African American Minds, The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Town Center St. Michaels, Waterfowl Festival, and Marla and Harold Baines. The Talbot County Health Department and the Talbot County Emergency Operations Center both received a special Chairman’s Award for their work during the pandemic.
Nominations for 2021-2022 will be accepted until Thursday, February 24. The online submission form can be found at TalbotWorks.org.
