University of Maryland Extension Offers Winter Programs

Instead of planting, area farmers often use the winter months to plan and gain skills that will help ensure their success during the growing season.

For more than 100 years, University of Maryland Extension has brought research-based information from the land-grant university system to the citizens of Maryland. This makes it easy for farmers and homeowners to stay up to date on latest advancements and newest developments in a variety of subjects.

Maryland Extension offers classes and workshops that are free and open to the public throughout the year, but winter is prime time for programming in rural communities. Topics range from grain marketing to succession planning and from time management to home gardening.

Many of the programs in 2021 will be offered virtually because of the COVID-19 pandemic. If you do not have access online or through your phone, contact Extension Educator Shannon Dill at (410) 822-1244.
