The future of healthcare is taking shape in Talbot County, and the community is invited to be part of it.
The University of Maryland Medical System will host a Career Expo on Saturday, March 21, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Building African American Minds (BAAM) Center in Easton, offering students, job seekers, and career changers an inside look at one of the region’s most vital and fast-growing industries.
This free, open-to-the-public event will highlight the wide range of full-time, part-time, clinical, and non-clinical career opportunities available within the healthcare system. Attendees will have the chance to meet directly with hiring managers, explore career pathways, and learn what it takes to build a meaningful career in healthcare.
“Healthcare is one of the most important economic drivers in Talbot County and on Maryland’s Eastern Shore,” says Cassandra Vanhooser, director of Economic Development and Tourism for Talbot County. “Events like this open doors for our residents to access stable, high-quality careers right here at home.”
Participants in the Career Expo can expect:
- Direct connections with UMMS hiring managers.
- Opportunities for both clinical and non-clinical positions.
- A welcoming environment for both experienced professionals and those new to the field.
The expo comes at a pivotal moment for the region. With the new University of Maryland Shore Regional Medical Center rising along Route 50 in Easton, healthcare is not only transforming lives but reshaping the local economy. Whether someone is just beginning their career journey or looking for a fresh start, the event offers a tangible pathway into a sector that is both resilient and deeply rewarding.
The event is sponsored by BAAM, itch: Introduction to Careers in Healthcare, and the Talbot County Department of Economic Development and Tourism.
Admission is free, and all job seekers are invited to attend.
