Small business owners and agricultural producers can apply for Renewable Energy Systems & Energy Efficiency Improvement Loans and Grants through the USDA’s Rural Energy for America Program. The application deadline is April 30, 2018.
The program provides guaranteed loan financing and grant funding to rural small business owners and agricultural producers for renewable energy systems or to make energy efficiency improvements.
Funds can be used for the purchase, installation, and construction of energy efficiency improvements such as high efficiency HVAC, insulation, lighting, doors and windows. Furthermore, funds may also be used for renewable energy systems such as biomass, wind generation, and solar generation.

Talbot County also has Property Accessed Clean Energy (MD-Commercial PACE) that can be leveraged by business owners seeking energy efficiency upgrades for their business.
